Hey there! I'm Gretchen O'Neill! Welcome to my site! I hope you enjoy your stay.
I am a simple girl that has lots of dreams- like everyone else I suppose- and always intrigued by the ways we all experience happiness. I'm fueled by my 3 littles and my amazing and supportive husband. We live happily in Boise, Idaho, and love to experience the little things in life.
Come on in and stay a while!

GRETCHEN • O’NEILL
B. 1994
HEBER • UT
GRETCHEN O’Neill began her hunger for art-making when she was very young and has continued to pursue her talent-- pushing herself to reach boundaries that she could have never imagined. She stepped into the art field and was noted for her abilities while designing for her high school. Gretchen now enjoys any time that she claims as ‘her own’ to be personal time with her sketch book as her work evolves.
GRETCHEN O’Neill has a deep affection for the human figure-- specifically the bust and profile. The symbolic of light, trees and in particular birds are commonly found in her works as well. Gretchen explores many mediums including graphic design, printmaking and her favorite medium, next to charcoal and graphite, the challenging medium of oil paint.

artist statement
GRETCHEN'S works surrounds the nature of the human soul in ways of depicting simple beauties that may be overlooked in a busy, chaotic world. They emphasize reasons to stop- to honestly think of how and what beauty is to the individual seeing- and to open a more sacred realm of mind and peace. Light is a powerful tool in Gretchen’s pieces, along with contrast and organic- but naturalistic- style to show the beauty that is in our real lives. Gretchen believes that art is supposed to depict a movement of emotion, and the emotions that should be ever -flowing are emotions of joy and peace; two of the most nourishing emotions to the human soul.
